On May 3, Pathway Homes hosted its 5th Annual Duck Race to raise awareness around the plight of thousands of central Floridians who struggle to find adequate housing and social supports.
With the help of Cox Radio Group as the media sponsor and Mid-Florida Credit Union as the Titanium sponsor, Pathway Homes was able to raise nearly $30k while offering a fun and family-friendly event, complete with hundreds of rubber duckies racing Island H20’s lazy river, raffle prizes, and music.
Supporters were able to buy ducks in either regular or jumbo sizes, with five winners in each category. The lucky first-place winners in the Regular Duck category won four single-day tickets to Universal Orlando, while those in the Jumbo Duck category were awarded four single-day tickets to Walt Disney World. Not too shabby!
Also in attendance were Osceola County Sherrif’s Department Captain Jeff Curtis, Pathway Homes Board members Marta Negron and Ruth Jackson Lee, Pathway Homes CEO Dr. Sylisa Lambert-Woodard. Speakers with lived experience featured Jason Sabbath and Robin Steiner, who both offered memorable and heartfelt remarks about their life-changing experiences with Pathway Homes. Their words truly brought home the reason for this fun yearly event: to end homelessness in Central Florida and increase resources such as social, medical, and mental health services for all people.
Pathway Homes thanks all who attended and participated, especially our sponsors:
